Know Your DNA - Everett Johnson

Everett will review the various types of DNA--atDNA, X-DNA, Y-DNA, and mtDNA. He will highlight the differences and will discuss when each type of test is most appropriate.

Creating DNA Trees with Lucid Chart - Susan Fabian

Susan will show how to use Lucid Chart, an online diagramming program, to create family trees that track DNA matches across platforms and see how they are all related to you and each other. This presentation will provide step-by-step direction on how to use Lucid Chart, how to create a tree, and will show several completed DNA trees and other relationship charts that can be helpful in your research and add great visuals to research reports.

Get answers to your DNA questions and guidance on interpreting your results. The first half of the meeting is a review of basic concepts and Q&A or a case study. The second half is a planned topic of the month and discussion of DNA developments. The DNA SIG meets virtually on the first Saturday of the month from 9:30AM-11:30AM. Both beginner and experienced topics are covered in an informal setting each month.
