City Directories
Census records are a great source of information about your ancestors, but they were only reported every ten years. With city directories, you can discover where your ancestors lived, the occupations they had, and who their family members and FAN club were between those years including that all important 1880 to 1900 period when no federal census exists.
In this presentation we’ll discuss what city directories are, what information they contain, where to find them, and the clues they contain for further research. There will be several mini case studies showing how genealogical questions were answered, information from other research was correlated, and brick walls were broken down using city directories.
Featured Speaker: Catherine W. Desmarais
