Get answers to your DNA questions and guidance on interpreting your results. The first half of the meeting is a review of basic concepts and Q&A or a case study. The second half is a planned topic of the month and discussion of DNA developments. The DNA SIG meets virtually on the first Saturday of the month from 9:30AM-11:30AM. Both beginner and experienced topics are covered in an informal setting each month.

The Genealogy Center of the Allen County Public Library system is the 2nd largest genealogy research facility in the country. We will hear from the Genealogy Center Manager about the millions of records we can access from near or far.

Keynote: "Alienation of Affection - Divorce in the US"

Divorce is not just a 20th Century phenomenon. At first, granted by the State Legislature and then by the Courts, these are public records. The case files can include marriage date and place, names and ages of children, current and former residences, and affidavits by the spouses about their marriage and reason for divorce. Clues are in the Census, City Directories, Military Pensions, County Histories, County Courthouses & especially in Newspapers. This could be the reason for a "lost spouse".
